Sales jobs to 'benefit from 2012 Olympic Games'
Thousands of business openings will be created before, during and after London hosts the Olympic Games in 2012, according to an industry expert.
Sam Turvey, communications manager at the British Chambers of Commerce, said that there are huge procurement opportunities which really will count for its members.
"Certain businesses in particular areas of the country are going to do very well from the Olympics. There are opportunities in construction, security, transport, food, insurance and other services that will present big rewards for British businesses," he added.
According to the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, over a billion pounds worth of Olympic contracts are still up for grabs.
The official London 2012 press office also confirmed that small businesses are continuing to win the bulk of the work on offer, with 98 per cent of contracts going to UK companies.
It also confirmed that plans are running to schedule and within budget ahead of the opening in three year's time.
